The Continuing MARF Debate

Information and Resources| No Comments »

So, please somebody write me and let me know what they think of MARF (Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation).

They supposedly give out research money, connect people, etc. But when you look at the numbers, they give out pennies for research and seem to only have lawyers and their clients on the board of directors. To their defense, they scream that there’s no money for Meso-research, etc. But do they really want it? Like that spoof article I posted a few posts ago, if Meso WERE CURED, there would be less business for them because of no wrongful death cases.

Meso is hell, and seems to be a no-win situation here.

Take a look at this which adds to my suspicion:

Mesothelioma Treatment Travel Grant

So… I found this article, which again, makes MARF sound like a Family-friendly, we’re-so-philanthropic organization. But this article is only published on fluff sites like FOX Business news and NEWSRX or some crap. And why is there no site publishing how to apply for the Travel grant? How many families can expect to get the grant? Do you have to sign away all your lawsuit proceeds to the lawyer-filled board-of-directors to get the Grant? WTF is all I have to say.

So, if anyone has had a good experience and can vouch for MARF, let me know. Otherwise, the more I see stuff like this, the more likely I am to take them off of my sidebar there.

Again.. we need a lawyer-unbiased website like this!!!!

(Not like anyone would find it amongst all the lawyer-filled websites… and I guess that’s why no one reads this blog).

Lawyer-run Links to Academic Articles

It seems quite useful to find the latest, but WARNING, it’s run by LAWYERS. (Links always need that disclaimer). Therefore, the quality of the articles cannot be vouched for and click on any other links on the site at your own risk.
